Cannabifuran – CBF and Chemical Information
Cannabis sativa is the single most popular and versatile herbal remedy. It is considered one of the most useful plants on the entire planet Earth. In fact, not any other plant is known to contain as much wide variety of medically active herbal constituents as the cannabis plant.
There are more than hundred of compounds in the cannabis plant. Each one of this compound has its own unique and distinctive properties. The foremost reason why the research work on every compound is not completed is that marijuana is a debatable subject. It is a Schedule I drug and its consumption is still not legal in various states of the United States or all around the world.
That is why; there is not even a single day when we don’t come across marijuana news. Even recently, the military has taken a decision to restrict the members’ use of marijuana if not banning it completely.
The Canadian Army Cannot Ban Marijuana Outright
The Canadian military is not in a position to impose a complete ban on the consumption of recreational marijuana. But it plans to ensure more wide-ranging restrictions than the policy governing alcohol as the senior commander states. However, the alcohol use in the Canadian military has always been subjected to different restrictions including outright bans, considering several overseas operations.
The Therapeutic Effects of Cannabifuran and Other Compounds
There are many compounds in the cannabis plant that have distinctive therapeutic effects on the human body. Some of these compounds are well known and famous for their medical use while some are awaiting focused research work to get fully discovered. Cannabifuran – CBF is one of the compounds present in the cannabis plant that is yet to be discovered when it comes to its effects on the human body or medical use. Indeed, we do have the chemical information of the compound.
Let’s have a look!
Cannabifuran and Chemical Composition
Cannabifuran has the molecular formula of C21H26O2. It has the molecular weight of 310.42994 g/mol. The compound belongs to the Cannabitriol cannabinoid. Thus, there is a chance that it contains the similar effects as that of different Cannabitriols.
The chemical structure of the Cannabifuran includes the arrangement of chemical bonds and atoms which keep the atoms together. The molecule of Cannabifuran contains almost 51 bonds in total. Among these 51 bonds, 25 are non-H bond(s), 5 rotatable bond(s), 15 multiple bond(s), 1 five-membered rings(s), 15 aromatic bond(s), 2 six-membered ring(s), 1 aromatic hydroxyl(s), 2 nine-membered ring(s) and 1 Furane(s).
2D Chemical Structure
If you have closer look at the Cannabifuran image that is also known as skeletal formula, it is the standard notation for different organic molecules. As per the structure of Cannabifuran, the carbon atoms are implied to be present at the corners. However, the hydrogen atoms connected to carbon atoms are not properly indicated. But each of the carbon atoms is assumed to be linked with enough hydrogen atoms. Thus each carbon atom is provided with four bonds.
Despite this chemical composition, we have only a little information about the Cannabifuran. Thus, to know it in full detail we look forward to more research work including clinical trials on humans.
