CBEA-B – Cannabielsoic acid B – an Active ingredient of Marijuana
The psychoactive and medicinal effects that are usually associated with marijuana or cannabis plant are caused by distinctive chemical structures known as cannabinoids.
Cannabinoids are found in the cannabis plant. So far, there have been around 86 identified cannabinoids in nature. However, there are also some compounds that are chemically synthesized.
The use of cannabis or medical marijuana has been there for decades. As per the National Institute of Health, many people use cannabis or marijuana to treat different ailments and this practice is continued for the past 3000 years.
But if we speak of current debate of marijuana legalization, not every department or country hold similar views. Legalization of marijuana, considering its medical benefits for the human body as well as psychoactive nature, is still a burning question.
According to Food and Drug Administration, marijuana is not safe for consumption. Even though the plant has been proved to provide many benefits to the human body even in treating chronic diseases like cancer (in some cases), the authority hasn’t deemed cannabis or marijuana an effective option to treat the medical condition.
There are many psychoactive ingredients present in marijuana that reacts with different receptors in the body. The major psychoactive ingredient is THC. in addition to this, there are also some other psychoactive and medicinal elements which include Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabavarin (THCV), delta-8-THC, Cannabichromene (CBC), Cannabitriol (CBT), Cannabicyclol (CBL), and cannabielsoin.
All of these are the different, naturally present, cannabinoids in the cannabis plant!

About Cannabielsoic – CBE
Cannabielsoic has been shown to be created from cannabinoid (CBD) as a novel metabolite. So far there has been very limited research on CBE. We don’t yet hold adequate or proven information in terms of its individual effects on the human body. Cannabielsoic has many compounds and each one of them has its own distinctive properties. Some of these include;
- CBEA-B – Cannabielsoic acid B
- CBE – Cannabielsoin – 365
- CBE is when the CBD breaks down and has no pharmacological use as of yet.
- CBEA-A – Cannabielsoin acid A
There is still research work going on to further understand the working and distinctive properties of these compounds. For instance, CBEA-B Cannabielsoic acid B has the molecular formula C22H30O5 and molecular weight of 374.477g/mol. Until now, we can only conclude the medical benefits of marijuana but not an individual or specific compound present in the plant. Over the years, we have established that marijuana helps in the treatment of various chronic medical conditions such as;
- Chronic pain
- Drug addiction and alcoholism
- Post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and social anxiety
- Cancer
- Multiple sclerosis
- Epilepsy
There is evidence that shows both harms as well as health benefits of cannabis or marijuana consumption. Indeed the emergence in the past couple of years of up to date and comprehensive reviews of all these scientific studies, evaluating the positives and negatives of the drug, it is evident that there is a need for more research to fully understand the health implications of increasing marijuana use.
